The trip to Bauchi is expected to take about 7 hours if you are doing the road trip, but if you are flying into Bauchi, your departure is subject to the flight schedule which we may have no control over. As you drive through the busy roads in Keffi and leading through the beautiful Plateau, you will be shown some attractions along the road which include the Assop waterfalls situated just along the road. You will have the opportunity to get some lunch in Jos while you are on a short drive break.

Your first point of call when you arrive Bauchi is the Emirs' palace. The palace houses some interesting artefacts as well as you get to take a tour of the palace where you are shown and taken through the rich culture and heritage of the people of Bauchi state.

After the tour of the palace, the day is far spent and you are then checked in to the hotel in Bauchi, the capital city of Bauchi state. Take some time to familiarize with the environment as you enjoy the warm hospitality of the well structured and secured hotel.

Visit the Sumu wildlife park where you will have your first safari experience. Sumu wildlife Park is about 60km away from the hotel along the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa international airport. You will enjoy the beautiful mountainous view as you drive along the gentle meandering road crossing a couple of settlements. The drive would give you an insight into the culture and way of life of the people.

Upon arrival at the park, you will get a brief introduction and subsequently commence the safari. The park has mainly herbivorous animals which include Giraffes, Wildebeest, Zebra and other interesting wildlife. Be sure to have enough battery on your phone or camera to take beautiful shots while on the safari.

Check-out from hotel and proceed to Yankari Game Reserve. The drive to the Yankari Game Reserve is about 113km.

Enjoy the welcoming environment as you access the reserve, check-in and familiarize with the chalets. Be sure to have an encounter with the "area boys" (Baboons).

Spend some refreshing time at the Wikki warm spring. The spring is warm all year round and it flows continuously, taking its source from the rock.

Start the tour with the Yankari museum before your second safari which is scheduled early before the sun gets intense. You should be set for the experience once breakfast is sorted. Your guide will give you an introduction into the species and the kind of wildlife present in the reserve. Visit the Marshal Caves. Be sure to have your battery fully charged because there are lots of pictures to take in the wild.

When you return to the resort, there is no better activity than to take a dive into the Wikki warm spring for a soothing swim. The charm of the spring is so deep that you are likely to be there till its lunch time. Not to worry, you have the whole day to relax and recreate at the spring.

There are other games you can engage in within the resort like volleyball, board games and others. You may also want to take a walk to explore the resort at your own pace or convenience. You may choose to spend the time at the bar in the evening with a bottle of drink and more. (Note: Alcohol is not sold in the resort, you should plan to have yours if you must take alcohol.
